What is play therapy? It looks like my child is just playing games!

Play therapy is a therapeutic modality most frequently used with young to school-aged children. Unlike adults, who are able to sit for 45 minutes to an hour simply engaging in talk therapy, children often have an easier time opening up while simultaneously engaging in play. Play therapy includes board games, arts & crafts, and books.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. We do recognize there may occasionally be extenuating circumstances where you cannot give 24 hours notice; decisions about a no-show/late cancellation fee will be made on a case by case basis.

What insurances do you accept?

We are in network with Carefirst Blue Cross Blue Shield, Maryland Medical Assistance (MA), and Johns Hopkins EHP/USFHP. If you have out of network benefits, we are happy to provide you with a superbill to submit for possible reimbursement from your insurance company.

My child has an IEP meeting coming up at school. Will you be able to attend?

Yes.  Please make this request a minimum of 10 days ahead of time so I can adjust my schedule.  I charge $175 per hour if you’d like me to attend in person or via phone.

What about attending a court hearing if needed?

Our rate to attend a court hearing is $450 per hour.

Do you provide documentation, such as, letters for schools/camp/courts, disability, etc.?

Yes, we do provide these letters for a charge of $25 per letter.  Please note that we do not provide letters for emotional support animals (ESA’s) at this time.
